Abstract
In order to improve the productivity, to enhance the management, and to incorporate the progress payment method, a cut and fill earthworks management system was developed based on 4D CAD and Earned Value Management System (EVMS). In this research, we integrated a 3D CAD, schedule management, cost estimation, and EVMS systems by using LandXML as the product model representing terrain data and IFC2x as the process model representing the construction process. We demonstrated the feasibility and practicality of the system by applying it to a past real earthworks project.
