Abstract

This research proposed a new method for making polymer microparticles. Polyvinylpyrrolidone was used in concentrations of 1–5%. First, the critical conditions of microparticles were evaluated through the electrocentrifuge spinning system. The critical voltage, rotating speed, and solution concentration were obtained. The results showed that the number of particles increased in each solution concentration and the particle size decreased with increasing the voltage. Also, as the rotating speed increases, the particles reach the bed before drying, thus sticking to each other and creating a smooth surface. However, at high voltages, the particles stick less to each other.
