Abstract

The General Educational Programs (the 3rd generation of Federal State Educational Standards, Higher Professional Education) are aimed at developing a creative personality. However, traditional teaching methods are not able to train students for creative professional work. We see the solution to this problem in employing creative techniques. The present article considers the possibility of using creative techniques when teaching a foreign language for developing students’ creative skills. The notions «creativity», «creative work», «creative skills» are specified. The article provides examples of such creative techniques as Clustering, Mind map, «transformation» into other people, animals, plants etc., which can be applied at German lessons. Finally, the key findings are analyzed.
