Abstract
For measuring activity of radionuclides produced in High-flux Advanced Neutron Application Reactor (HANARO) at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), a small size 4πβ–γ coincidence counter was developed. This counter comprises a liquid scintillator for detecting beta-ray and NaI crystal for detecting gamma-ray, each coupled to SiPMs (silicon photomultipliers) that do not require high-voltage devices. The performance of the newly developed detector was validated using 134Cs and 177Lu reference materials.
