Abstract

Continuous emission monitoring System (CEMS) measures and reports the sum of pollutant emissions from stationary sources. It’s a time-tested, efficient and reliable technique that has been used and perfected during its three-decade applications in a variety of industries. Today, the China EPA requires continuous monitoring of emissions produced by coal-and oil-fired power plants, municipal and hazardous waste incinerators, cement plants, as well as many other types of industrial sources. The emissions data reported to the China EPA provide a continuous record that can be used to guide further regulations and determine the compliance of stationary sources with their emission limitations. Data Acquisition and Handling System (DAHS) is an important part of CEMS. This paper expatiates the basic structure of CEMS and DAHS function. We program DAHS for Beijing Guohua power plant based on FIX configuration software, which works well.
