Abstract

Developing countries have blocked initiatives for further negotiations of international competition law and policy within the World Trade Organization (WTO), arguing that the WTO is not an appropriate forum for these discussions. This article takes another look at a current controversy and discusses three following questions: What matters most to developing countries from a competition point of view? Why do they need a WTO competition agreement? And how they can push forward the conclusion of such an agreement?
