Abstract
Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun can cause important health problems such as skin cancer, cataracts, eye problems, and suppression of the immune system. UV accumulated in our eyes throughout our lives can cause irreversible damage. Sunglasses are the most important tool in protecting our eyes from UV and helping us see. Good sunglasses should absorb UVA and UVB radiation, preventing eye damage. Statistical analysis of 311 participants in an optical store, the UV protection of sunglasses, the reflection of UV rays on the surface, the harms of imitation glasses, the lens color preferred by the users, the reasons for using sunglasses, the frequency of use of the users were made with the SPSS program. Determining people's knowledge level about sunglasses use and sharing the results will reduce the financial cost to the country and reduce cataract formation, making a significant contribution to the literature.
