Abstract

Abstract The research reported in this paper was concerned with the identification of objectives for short periods of supervised work experience (SWE) as part of a Home Economics course. The objectives of employers, tutors and students were identified and classified in terms of their primary, secondary or tertiary importance. The identification of objectives was facilitated using the Training Instruments Pack (Kelly and Dorsman, 1982). As a result it was considered possible to devise an assessment scheme related to those objectives identified as being of primary and secondary importance to all three groups.
