Abstract

Relations were calculated between branching parameters g and h and the number of branches f and the ratio between the length of branch and the length of ridges for comb-shaped branched polymers. It was shown that the use of ratios for g and h without allowing for the length of branches results in an inaccurate figure for the number of branches. A nomogram was plotted to determine from experimentally determined inertia radii and coefficients of forward friction the number of branching units and the ratio of branch length to ridge length for comb-shaped macromolecules.
