Abstract

Noting that the article entitled “Determining Free Available Chlorine by DPD‐Colorimetric, DPD‐Steadifac (Colorimetric), and FACTS Procedures” by Cooper et al. (JOURNAL AWWA July 1982) has prompted several letters to the editor, this reader writes to state that the resolution to the controversy is an individual one. Analysts must consider FACTS reagent variability, DPD colorimetric, and glassware cleaning and rinsing as factors in determining free available chlorine using colorimetric and FACTS procedures.
