Abstract
A 1H–{1H} decoupling experiment by the method of tickling is used to demonstrate that the signs of the spin couplings J14N–1H (CH2) and J14N–1H (CH3) in ethyl isonitrile are opposite. A similar experiment suggests that there is a small spin coupling J14N–1H (CH2) present in the tetraethylammonium cation.
