Abstract

Reports on an absolute determination of the lattice parameter of potassium at 20 degrees C. Data were obtained with the aid of a time-of-flight neutron spectrometer. In addition, the variation of the lattice parameter from 6 degrees C to 60 degrees C has been measured using a neutron double crystal backscattering spectrometer. Some information on the crystal quality is also given.
