Abstract
In the last decade, the sphere of scientific activity in the USSR has expanded significantly. During this period, outlays on science have increased fourfold, and the number of scientific workers has increased threefold. The contribution made by scientific and planning organizations in raising the productivity of social labor and in increasing the country's national income is also growing. The economic results of incorporating science in production are expressed in a larger physical volume of national income.
