Abstract

This is the first report on the determination of proteins with manganese-tetrasulfonatophthalocyanine (MnTSPc) by resonance light scattering (RLS). At pH 3.6, the interactions of MnTSPc with the enhanced RLS signals at 344 nm, proteins, including bovine serum albumin (BSA), human serum albumin (HSA), human γ-IgG, and ovalbumin, can be determined with a limit of detection below 20 ng mL−1. The method has been applied to the analysis of total protein in human serum samples collected from a hospital, and the results were in good agreement with those reported by the hospital.
