Abstract

Positron annihilation spectroscopy is shown to be an efficient method for determining the size of nanoobjects (vacancies and their clusters), the free volumes of pores, cavities, voids, and their concentrations and chemical compositions at the annihilation sites of porous systems and certain defective materials, including metals. The results of experimental studies on nanodefects of metals and alloys have been reviewed comprehensively.
