Abstract
Several lignin derivatives were analyzed by aqueous phase High Performance Size Exclusion Chromatography (HPSEC): Calibration and sample analysis were carried out with a Superosa 12 HR column (30 cm x 10 mm i.d.) purchased from Pharmacia. The mobile phase was a sodium hydroxide solution containing other electrolytes, such as NaCl, LiCl, and Na 4 P 2 O 7 . Sodium polystyrene sulfonate standards were used for calibration. The optimum mobile phase for analyzing samples with average molecular weight of 7050, 1858, 7867 daltons was found to be 0.1 M sodium hydroxide with NaCl 0.15 M solution, solution for lignins from sugar cane bagasse spent liquor and for comercially available lignin derivatives(AT indulin and W-1 indulin)
