Abstract
A hybrid method of determination of microimpurities of free sulphur in transition metal sulphides is proposed. The method is based on solvent extraction and determination of the free sulphur by molecular emission cavity analysis. The detection limit is equal to 0.2 ng; the linear dynamic range lies from 8 × 10 −5% to 0.3% by wt. The mean value of relative standard deviation is no more than 0.04. The method is applicable for testing sulphide electrode materials, specifically titanium disulphide.
