Abstract
1. Feasibility has been demonstrated for bringing aluminum oxide to a constant degree of activity before each analysis, while the aluminum oxide remains in the column used for analysis. Here the column packing can be used repeatedly, and the elution limits of the components do not change, so that it is possible to cut the time of analysis to the greatest degree possible. 2. A method has been developed for determining the content of monocyclic, bicyclic, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in middle-distillate petroleum cuts, this method being based on column liquid chromatography in combination with spectrophotometric examination. The relative error in this method of analysis is no more than 8%.
