Abstract

A direct determination of calcium in urine using: EDTA and calcein-indicator is not possible on account of various interfering substances (phosphate, fluorescence, etc.).If calcium is isolated from the urine with a carboxylic acid resin (Amberlite IRC-50) and later eluted quantitatively, these difficulties are circumvented.A method following these principles is presented. It is simple and convenient for clinical routine use a−1 the reproducibility is satisfactory.
