Abstract
The article presents the results of an experimental research on anxiety and its psychosocial determinants at pupil from gymnasium. As a sample we selected 100 pupils from 5th till 8th class. On all pupils we applied the following teste: Children Anxiety Manifest Test, Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale and Self-confidence test by V. Romek. As results we established that anxiety is a characteristic for pupils (52% of pupils have a moderate and high level of anxiety). Anxiety is more particular for girls than for boys. As determinants of anxiety we highlighted a low level of self-confidence and courage. Also, for pupils with anxiety are specific a low and moderate level of initiation of social contacts.
