Abstract
This study examined the determinants of academic performance for a sample of Level I Students in the Management of Commercial Shipping and Portrait Programs. The determinants consist of class participation rate, gender, study time and part-time work as predictors of academic performance. The population of this study were all first semester students of the Commercial Shipping and Port Management Study Program (KPN) / Management Study Program. In this study, the sample consisted of 21 students from one class. Hypothesis testing of this study uses multiple regression analysis. The classical assumption test and normality test are also used in this study. The results show that: class participation positively affects student academic performance; gender has a negative impact on student academic performance; study time does not affect student academic performance; part time work does not affect student academic performance.
