Abstract

In this paper a method to adapt the calculation of the expected energy-loss distribution to measured data is proposed. It requires one well measured ionization spectrum, which normally can be obtained from test beam data, cosmic muons or γ ∗ , Z 0 → μ ± events at e +e − colliders. The method is applied on data from the Time Projection Chamber, TPC, in the DELPHI experiment at CERN.
