Abstract
Background and Aims: Previously, we identified copy number loss (CNV) of 7-8 exons of GBP3 in patients with coronary artery disease by array-CGH (doi:10.1038/srep41268). Guanylate-binding proteins, including GBP3, may be involved in macrophage activation in atherosclerosis. The increased expression of the Gbp3 gene was detected in foam cells of atherosclerotic plaque in ApoE(-/-) mice on the Western diet. (doi:10.1161/JAHA.115.002663). The aim was an assessment of copy-number events (CNV) of the GBP3 gene in patients with carotid atherosclerosis.
