Abstract

We report the case of multiple sclerosis with quadrantanopia revealed by Frequency doubling technology (FDT) version 3.0, which corresponded to the lesion detected by MRI. A 26-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis complained of blurred vision. MRI demonstrated a high-intensity lesion around the trigone of the left lateral ventricle. Humphrey white-on-white and blue-on-yellow perimetry detected few abnormal points in the right quadrant area, but a depression in that area. FDT version 3.0 revealed a markedly right superior homonymous quadrantanopia. FDT was useful for the detection of quadrantanopia in a patient with multiple sclerosis, as compared with conventional automated perimetry.
