Abstract
Application of eddy current method for detection of the cracks in ferrous steel structures and components is formidable due to additional noise originated from steel magnetic and structural heterogeneity and geometrical irregularity of inspected surface. These factors throw down a real challenge to EC inspection practice. Presented double differential type probes can create good background to solve these problems. In this study investigations concerned with double differential EC probe and some specific inspection applications are presented.
