Abstract

Men who have sex with men (MSM) have a disproportionately high hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection rate — 15% to 25% of new HBV infections in the U.S. occur in this group. Despite the availability of an effective vaccine and decades-old recommendations that MSM be vaccinated, uptake remains low.
