Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology makes companies market their products in more attractive ways. This includes the field of education which currently uses a variety of methods to conduct better marketing and promotion. Banjarmasin State Polytechnic (Poliban) is a vocational state university located in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Poliban stands on an area of about 5.64 hectares. As a Higher Vocational Institution, Poliban annually carries out new students' admission. But every year the number of registrants changes dynamically. In carrying out promotional activities Poliban has utilized social media such as Instagram and Facebook. The media has become a common media that has been widely used to introduce Poliban. As a form of promotional innovation, Poliban needs to use different media in introducing campus information. Virtual Tour technology is one way to make promotional media more attractive so that users will be able to know information about objects through applications using three-dimensional (3D) objects. The purpose of this research is to build a Virtual Tour-based digital promotion tool as the type of architectural visualization, the object area is the Departments in Banjarmasin State Polytechnic. The results of the research are expected to provide additional insights in the form of new concepts in conveying information about POLIBAN by utilizing technology as a means of Virtual tours. In addition, with the existence of 3D modeling facilities, it is hoped that visitors will meet the visualization of the place/location of the departments in POLIBAN.
