Abstract

A new library of various types of aryl pyrimidine-thiadiazoles (8a-j) have been synthesized and their structures characterized by analytical techniques. Further, all compounds were subjected to in vitro anticancer activity towards four human cancer cell lines such as PC3 & DU-145 (Prostate cancer), A459 (lung cancer) and MCF-7 (breast cancer) by using MTT assay and etoposide used as reference compound. Most of the tested compounds displayed excellent to moderate activity. Among them, compounds 8a, 8d, 8e, 8f and 8g showed more potent activity. In which one compound 8e showed remarkable activity.
