Abstract

A design study of a large cylindrical drift chamber of 4.5 m length and 3.4 m diameter for an experiment at a large e +e − storage ring is presented. Measurements of the electrostatic stability of the wiresand of the pulse propagation along the wires are reported. The mechanical design, minimizing the amount of material traversed by particles, is discussed.
