Abstract

The design of the conductive network structure and the choice of conductive nanofillers nanomaterials with different dimensions in polymeric conductive composites (PCCs). This review primarily explored the influence of nanomaterial dimensions on the performance of PCCs. It is worth noting that nanomaterials with different dimensions can synergistically complement PCCs to build high-quality sensors. Subsequently, we summarized the impacts of varying structure designs i.e., 1D fiber, 2D laminar, and 3D network structures, on the sensing performance of strain sensors in terms of sensitivity, detection range, and cycling stability. Additionally, the applications of wearable piezoresistive strain sensors were discussed, such as physiological signal monitoring, disease therapy and healthcare, as well as human–machine interaction. Moreover, the challenges experienced while using wearable piezoresistive strain sensors were explored.
