Abstract

Now a day's many companies are doing many researches on airbag system because airbag system has become an essential safety device for guaranteeing the physical well-being of drivers and their passengers. Unlike other safety devices, airbags are used as the last resort in an accident, as they are directly linked to the safety of the driver and passengers, the proper functioning of the system is an issue of emergency. Airbag deployment has been responsible for death, incidental injuries and broken bones due to low crash severity and wrong deployment decision. This has led the authorities and the industries to pursue uniquely designed airbags incorporating crash-sensing technologies. To overcome such problem a novel design of crash sensor is proposed and analysed the performance of airbag system by crash sensor for automobiles. When a vehicle collides with the obstacle or other vehicle the sensor that was placed at the front portion of the vehicle used to detect the force hit by vehicle. This analysis run through Comsol multi-physics tool, taken the dimensions of the sensor for analysing the force, load, frequency and capacitance to know how much minimum voltage required to deploy the air bags. Using these design parameters, there are two circular shaped cylinders. One of them is outer cylinder and inner cylinder. Inner cylinder is also known as proof mass. The parameters are, for outer cylinder radius of $100 {\mu} \mathrm{m}$ and thickness is $5 {\mu} \mathrm{m}$ . coming to proof mass its radius of $20 {\mu} \mathrm{m}$ and its thickness is $5 {\mu} \mathrm{m}$ . And we have to check for different materials.
