Abstract
Taking an extra-large-flow and high-power centrifugal pump as a prototype, a test model pump was designed according to the similarity theory and numerical simulation conversion. The model pump was manufactured using moldless casting technology and subjected to model test, serving as preliminary work for verifying and improving the performance of the prototype pump. The results show that the efficiency of the scaled-down model pump designed by similar conversion is about 7% lower than that of the prototype pump. The impeller and pump body of the model pump were processed using moldless casting technology, significantly reducing the manufacturing cycle. Furthermore, the test head of the model pump is close to the result of numerical simulation, and the test efficiency is 4.5% lower than the efficiency obtained by numerical simulation.
