Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper outlines the design considerations and performance criteria of a microcomputer program developed for drilling management. The program utilizes existing daily report procedures used in most offices to build an on-site well information data base. The data base is then used for real-time operations optimization, report generation, and subsequent well analysis. It is totally self-contained for use on IBM-XT microcomputer. The outline, while specific to the IBM-XT, can be used by any data processing department to structure their own drilling management system for micro, mini, or mainframe computer installations.
