Abstract

General design optimisation methods are presented for selecting an appropriate melt polymer filtration system. Factors influencing system selection are examined with emphasis on a mathematical modelling approach to optimal system sizing using sintered metal fibre media in cylindrical and leaf disc element configurations. Design criteria is evaluated to meet system requirements and cost effectiveness.
