Abstract
An approach for the design of two-dimensional (2-D) recursive digital filters with coefficients of finite word length is described. The method is derived from a continuous optimization procedure which appears to be particularly suitable to meet both amplitude and phase specifications in the frequency domain. The proposed algorithm finds good solutions in a comparatively short computer time.
