Abstract

In this note we examine reversible mappings between recursively computable two-dimensional digital filters with arbitrary regions of support and associated filters with quarter-plane support. These mappings allow quarter-plane design algorithms to be used to design more general recursive filters. This treatment applies equally to rectangularly sampled and hexagonally sampled systems.
