Abstract
Abstract In this paper, a cavity backed triangular slot-antenna, which has novel feeding structures such as a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and two different feeding transitions, is investigated in terms of electrical performances, including reflection coefficients, gain and radiation patterns. In addition, in order to check the effects of feeding transition types on the electrical performances of the main radiator, two different feeding transitions, namely microstrip-to-SIW based on a taper and Grounded Coplanar Waveguide (GCPW)-to-SIW, have been studied by considering reflection coefficients, gain and radiation patterns. This antenna is designed with CST Microwave Studio. As a result, have been obtained a maximum gain more than 6dB has accomplished by using the proposed antenna with microstrip-to-SIW transition operating at k-band of 21 GHz center frequency.
