Abstract
In this paper, of round corner rectangular planar sensor with circular slot is designed for the characterization of permittivity ($\varepsilon$=1-10) and conductivity ($\tau$--0-0.1)S/m. Circular slot structure is embedded on the rectangular patch along with rounded corners, designed for f--2.4 GHz, substrate Rogers RT/duroid $\varepsilon_{-}^{-}$2.2 with height h=1.6 mm. The proposed sensor is sensing the properties of material, conductivity as well as permittivity. From simulation, it is observed that there is resonance frequency shift when the permittivity of the material varies, keeping the conductivity same for sample material. The conductivity estimation is achieved keeping the permittivity of the material constant. The change is observed in reflection coefficient by varying conductivity but no significant shift in resonance frequency observed.
