Abstract

In this paper, a polarization reconfigurable antenna is proposed, which is composed of a metasurface, a slot antenna and a metallic reflector. The reconfiguration of polarization can be achieved easily by rotating the metasurface which is made up of 16 identical patched. The slot antenna adopts a double slot structure for extending its S11 bandwidth. Moreover, the axial ratio bandwidth could be reconfigured by changing the distance among the metasurface, slot antenna and metallic reflector. Simulation results show that the antenna could operate in linear polarization, left-hand and right-hand circular polarizations from 4GHz to 5GHz(22.2%). The maximum gain could achieve 8.46dBi.
