Abstract
A multimedia remote learning system which aimed at the network distributed multimedia technology for remote and distributed learning was designed. The teaching material server was enabled to be accessed from the home by adopting high-speed and the most realistic BRI-ISDN now as a telecommunication line. It provides with the remote access server for the access from the mobile computing environment by PHS to enable the access from outdoor to the teaching material server. This system has the functions such as information exchange base by WWW, the video on demand function, and the intelligent CAI server function.
