Abstract
The Proliferation of mobile telecommunication networks leads to increasing demand for miniaturized and cost effective antenna that operates for multiple frequency bands. Recently, Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System (IRNSS) is implemented to provide standard positioning service instead of GPS in order to avoid the unguaranteed positioning service during hostile situation. This IRNSS is developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to have an own real time positioning and timing service over and around 1500 km from India. This motivated us to propose the multiband Planar Inverted F Antenna (PIFA) which operates for the frequency bands of Long Term Evolution (LTE), Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS), IRNSS and ISM bands of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi in the electromagnetic spectrum. The proposed internal antenna is designed using FR4 epoxy substrate and it is analyzed by the parameters such as Return loss, Current distribution and Radiation Patterns of all possible operational bands. 3D Electromagnetic Simulation Tool is used to design and evaluate the performance of multi resonance PIFA antenna. The proposed PIFA antenna satisfies the modernized mobile technology requirements by its attributes like simple design, low profile, good SAR (Specific Absorption Ratio), conformal nature and built in structure.
