Abstract
Abstract This paper is mainly focused on a mapping application using ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) developed Navigation system IRNSS (Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System). The IRNSS user receiver is mounted on a mobile vehicle and taken for a field survey. The main objective is to study the water body of the Arkavathi reservoir in all three different modes (IRNSS, GPS and hybrid) of operation. The altitude variations are also considered across the region of the survey. The data variations and sudden drop across the dense canopy are considered for the study and analysis. The study and application are going to prove the IRNSS is able to show good results on mapping and surveying application.
