Abstract
This paper presents a 3.1-10.6 GHz low-noise amplifier (LNA) based on the cascode configuration. RC-feedback and forward body bias techniques are employed in the proposed circuit design. The implementation of the low-noise amplifier for wireless communication systems was implemented using TSMC commercial 0.18-µm 1P6M CMOS technology. The measurement results show a maximum power gain (S21) of 10.8 dB. The input reflection coefficient S11 and output reflection coefficient S22 are lower than -8.1 and -9.5 dB, respectively. A minimum noise figure of 5.5 dB and an input third-order intercept point IIP3 of -6.4 dBm have been obtained. The power dissipation is 6.4 mW at 1.1 V supply voltage.
