Abstract

AbstractMinimum mean square error (MMSE) based linear precoder in multiple antenna downlink wireless communication system with imperfect channel state information (CSI) at the base station (BS) is considered in this paper. The CSI available at the BS is modelled by incorporating antenna correlation at the BS, channel estimation error variance and temporal correlation coefficient. If the temporal correlation coefficient is known at the BS, the current CSI can be updated. To improve the performance of the system, the future channel is predicted using two‐dimensional MMSE prediction. In this paper, the proposed MMSE linear precoder is designed by considering the imperfect CSI and two‐dimensional predicted CSI. The computer simulation results validate the bit error rate performance of the proposed system when compared to the previously proposed precoders, which consider channel estimation error variance only.
