Abstract
The helical antenna is proposed for application in Radiosonde. The frequency of radiosonde is 403 MHz or 1680 MHz. In this paper, advancement in the basic design of helix which extends to dielectric loaded helix with narrow bandwidth is proposed. Due to dielectric material size reduction in helical antenna is possible. Most of the radiosonde makes use of monopole, folded dipole, helical antenna for the ground receiver but we simulate helical antenna at 403 MHz in HFSS software because of circular polarization, directional radiation pattern and high gain. Main objective of this helical antenna is to measure the atmospheric parameters in inclement weather condition. The return loss of the proposed helical antenna obtained is less than10 dB and bandwidth 20.63 MHz, VSWR obtained is less than 2. From the simulation we got desired results.
