Abstract

Energy efficiency is one of the highly considered factor while designing the digital circuit logics. In that, Adiabatic Quantum Flux parametron is well suited for that factor. In this research article, an decade counter is designed based on Adiabatic Quantum Flux Parametron (AQFP). Adiabatic Quantum Flux Parametron (AQFP) will be powered by the use of AC (Alternating Current) in place of DC power supply. With the help of T – Flip flop, the decade counters are designed and the input of the AQFP based decade counter is logic high or logic ‘1’ with synchronized excitation currents respectively. Decade counter counts value in digital format, and counts from ‘0’ (zero) to ‘9’ (nine). A 4-bit decade counter is designed based on AQFP; the design is made by having four stage T – Flip Flop connected in synchronous format by adding buffers in between each stage to avoid collision of read out signal bits from stage 1 (one) through 4 (four). The design is made available for both high frequency and low frequency applications.
