Abstract

The three-dimensional contact problem for a pyramidal pile under combined vertical, lateral, and moment-induced loads is solved by the method of boundary elements. A linearly deformable half space weakened by a cavity, the geometric dimensions of which are identical to the contact surface of the pile, is used as a soil model. The resultant solution is compared with familiar theoretical results and experimental data.
