Abstract
The paper presents a new approach regarding the design of decentralised optimal controls for integrated power systems. This approach involves the decomposition of the integrated system into interconnected subsystems and the independent control of each subsystem considering the interactions at the interconnection points as unknown inputs (disturbances). The design of a full order Kalman filter, capable of reconstructing the states of the system and the unknown inputs, and the integration of this observer into the overall control loop are presented in the paper. Finally, the proposed approach is applied to the design of an optimal current regulator for weak AC/DC systems.
