Abstract

Saving energy is considered one of the most important requirements of the industries, a speed controller offers the flexibility to improve the behavior of a motor compared to on and off circuits, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) are considered the best and most common option, although they represent a high acquisition cost. However, an alternative is the use of a speed regulator circuit through TRIAC and DIAC (Dimmer) that controls the flow of alternating current (AC), when it is activated correctly, the loss of energy is minimal. This work is focused on the design and construction of a speed controller for an AC motor using the principles of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The proposed method will use a HC-SR04 sensor to determine the speed of the device and a Nodemcu Esp8266 WIFI card for data acquisition.
