Abstract
This paper exploits the advantages of ZCS PWM controlled Full — Bridge DC — DC Converter in Solar Power Sourced Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Stations. The wide range duty cycle of the converter makes it feasible for the Solar Energy based applications where operating voltage depends upon weather conditions. A detailed working of the converter has been explained. The circuit is simulated for a 0.5 kW 48 V system in the Simulink environment. Comparison has also been made between ZVS and ZCS converters. The prototype of the proposed system is under development in the Power Systems Laboratory of NIT Calicut.
